Lexi Reed weighed almost 500 pounds when she started her weight-loss journey.

As the year comes to a close, Lexi Reed and her husband Danny have now collectively lost 400 pounds as they continue to stick to their resolution to live healthier.

#transformationtuesday -392👇 since @dannyreed5 & I set a New Years Resolution together 1/1/16. We didnt have a meal plan, surgery, personal trainer, but what we did have was each other & the motivation within to work hard every single day. We wanted to be parents in the future and live a longer life together. We had no idea that in just over a year 6 months we would be a completely different couple. We may have lost the weight but we have grown closer together. Pound by pound, step by step, day by day – we have transformed our lives and molded our bodies into the people we've always wanted to be. This man has been by my side for the last 10 years and treated me no different at 485lbs than he does at 182lbs. We all deserve to live a life we are in love with and have people around that make it worth living. We hope others will hear our story & decide not to give up! ——————————————————————————— Dietbet just started but you can join for 14 days after! Time to get back on track! Lexi’s now down to a size 10 from a size 28, and Danny now wears 32 instead of a 46, they told ABC News.

“There are no words to explain the feeling of saving your own life,” she said. “Going into 2018 I have nothing but a newfound happiness for this life I am living. I no longer am a prisoner in my own body and instead of just existing in my own life, I’m finally alive. Every day I wake up is a blessing.”

#facetofacefriday -392lbs 👇 since @discoveringdanny & I set a New Years Resolution 1/1/16. This picture from the night before we started our journey speaks to me. We had no idea exactly how we were going to lose the weight or if we would make it – but we were determined to try. We knew that together anything was possible. We weighed a combined total of 765lbs and we fedup with the life we were living. Together we started meal prepping, drinking water instead of soda, quit watching television and started moving more, going to the gym just 30 minutes five times a week, focusing on our future every day, setting goals – and day by day the weight took care of its self. Original, January 31, 2017: At just 25 years old, Lexi Reed weighed nearly 500 pounds. The Indiana native knew she was putting her health — and potentially her life — in jeopardy, which is why, on January 1, 2016, she decided something had to change.

#motivationmonday I was just a girl fedup with being overweight & making your typical New Years Resolution to lose it. I quickly learned how strong & capable I actually was & it turned into a lifestyle. It's hitting me hard that this year is almost over & in 353 days i've lost 218lbs. Losing weight has completely changed my life. From 485lbs to 267lbs i'm not the same person I was. I have literally worked my butt off for a year consistently. There are no short cuts to weightloss, just hardwork, diet, & exercise. I'm not where I want to be yet, but i've sure come alot closer than last year. Change your mind, change your life. Kicking off the new year with her biggest weight-loss resolution yet, Reed teamed up with her husband, Danny, to work their way toward a healthier lifestyle. Now, a little over a year later, the couple is still going strong — and they’ve lost nearly 300 pounds combined!

#transformationtuesday couple style. We started our journey January 1, 2016 as a New Years Resolution. I've lost -234lbs & he's lost -58lbs for a total of 292lbs together! We traded in our lazy nights on the couch, eating terrible foods & binge watching netflix for the gym & healthy meals. Losing weight is hard & even harder when those you love don't support you. I'm one lucky girl to have someone who always loved me no matter what size & saw who I could be. We now have a more adventurous relationship & can do more active things together such as hiking, walking, bike riding, etc. This journey has brought us closer together & we have changed our lives as well as the lives of our children one day. We're looking forward to a much longer future together & are still working hard on our goals daily. Surround yourself with those who see the greatness in you, even when you don't see it yourself. ❤ #fitness #fit #fitfam #swolemate #workout #lift #cardio #transform #gym #inspire #mealprep #eatclean #extremeweightloss #progress #fitnessmotivation #noexcuses #traintogetherstaytogether #fitcouple #eatclean #weightloss #fattofit #obesetobeast #motivation #plussize #weightlossjourney #workout #love #husband #beforeandduring #adventure #life

“The first 30 days we didn’t eat out,” Reed told local news station WTHI-TV. “We didn’t party with our friends or anything anymore; we didn’t have cheat meals. We just were constantly healthy. I think after that first 30 days, it just became so much easier because we had learned what we couldn’t eat. From there on, it wasn’t a resolution anymore; it just became our lifestyle.”

Once Reed lost her first 100 pounds, she decided to take her journey to social media, where she started her Instagram account, @fatgirlfedup. There, she posts gym selfies, meal ideas, and motivational quotes for an audience of more than 56,000 followers.

Tonight was a major #NSV for me. A local news station called & asked me to do an interview about my weightloss journey. I've always hated public speaking, used to be shy & didn't want to draw attention to myself even if it was for something i had accomplished. I agreed to the interview & i"ll be on the news tomorrow. I was nervous; but i'm so passionate about my journey that I found my new found confidence & handled it really well. We were able to complete the interview in one take actually. My husband also came & they let him join in with me. Hoping to be able to inspire someone with our story. Hit the gym after & worked off the adrenaline! I will do what I can to share the video with you guys & i'm almost done making my own! 😀 #weightloss #goals #fitfam #news #inspire #fitspo #newyear #fitfam #muscles #cardio #sweat #strong #progress #weightlossjourney #obesetobeast #motivation #selflove #gym #anytimefitness #selfimprovement #fitnessmotivation #goaldigger #life #indiana #indyfitness #fitness #weights #elliptical

Reed never expected her weight-loss journey would matter to more than her immediate circle of friends — much less for it to go viral. But now that she has such a large Instagram audience, she hopes her weight-loss journey can motivate others.

“I just hope that if [people] do come to my page, they can find inspiration; they can find somebody to say it’s possible,” she said. “You don’t have to have surgery, and you don’t have to pay crazy amounts of money just to eat healthy or to have a trainer. Just move, start walking — all those things are just going to make a difference.”

#transformationtuesday -236lbs in less than 13 months. 485lbs to 248lbs. My name is Lexi, i'm 26 years old & working hard daily at fighting obesity. When i started my journey I did 30 mins of cardio on the elliptical 4x a week & even that was a struggle. I had so many reasons/goals that I kept going for myself depsite those that didn't believe in me, or what people at the gym may have thought. I hated cooking, but I knew I had to fuel my body with healthy foods & started learning. I refused to let myself make excuses & started seeing results. I tracked every single calorie & learned more about nutrition. I changed my mindset & decided i wasn't going to focus on the 300+lbs to lose but instead each day. I became more positive mentally instead of sweating the small stuff & it changed my life. My name is Lexi & I refuse to be an victim to obesity, but a victor instead. I hope you'll join me in changing your own life. ❤ #weightloss #goals #motivation #change #positive #selflove #plussize #obesity #gym #fattofit #obesetobeast #fit #fitness #anytimefitness #fitfam #transform #extremeweightloss #fitnessmotivation #transformation #indiana #cardio #lift #zumba #weightlossjourney #selfimprovement #mealprep #foodprep #eatclean #cleaneating

Reed says there isn’t any special secret to how she lost 236 pounds. She simply credits changes to her diet and exercise routine. But there have been other benefits to her major lifestyle makeover: Reed says setting (and achieving!) weight-loss goals with her husband by her side has made their relationship even stronger, and the experience inspired her to head back to school to study nutrition.

2016 has been one of the greatest years of my life & I can honestly say i'm not the same person I was when this year started. My New Years resolution of losing weight has become my lifestyle. I have lost 224lbs this year with hard work, diet, & exercise. No magic pill, just constantly working on my goals. I left my comfy job as an assistant manager after 4 years & got a job in the medical field. I blogged my weightloss journey on Instagram & I have a strong fitness family support group. I applied to go back to school in 2017 for food & nutrition to help others change their lives the same way I have. You are capable of anything you set your mind too. Who will you be in 2017? Happy New Years everyone! ❤ #weightloss #goals #fitfam #fit #fitness #gym #fattofit #losingweighg #goals #weightlossjourney #plussize #motivation #newyears #diet #nutrition #education #curves #selfimprovement #healthy #effyourbeautystandards #anytimefitness #resolution #2017
